Rodolfo Lamaestra was born in Virginia where he spent his earlier youth developing a passion for art. As a child, he loved to paint and draw but  it wasn't until his early 20's that he got into photography. After he graduated college with a degree in IT, he picked up a used camera and within a month learned almost everything he could about it. Shortly after, a night club in Washington DC offered him a residency.

Within a year he gained the attention of Fatlace, which is a car lifestyle brand based out of San Francisco. With a love for the automotive 'stance' scene, he decided to start shooting for them. He spent alot of his free time building european cars and eventually completed two pretty famous builds so Europrojektz (a world-wide european car group) made him the east coast director of operations.

Music became a major part of his life so he started shooting for Resident Advisor and went to Miami to cover WMC. It didnt take long for him to realize house music parties are all he wanted to shoot. It was in 2010 that he sold his first print to the record label, Universal Republic & was also offered to do a tour for Toolroom Records.

It was later that year that he launched this website. The name emortal (immortal) was chosen because by definition its something that is ever-lasting and never dies, so used as a metaphor towards photography & films they capture moments that will never die. "The biggest luxury is time." -Tom Ford
